Abcas is a specialist access company providing a quality service to clients around the UK and beyond.
The utilisation of industrial rope access techniques enables our highly trained technicians to work safely in high or otherwise difficult locations. The rope techniques used have their origins in the sports of caving and mountaineering but have been developed over the last 25 years to suit an industrial application.
Abcas ensures the safety of its workforce by:
- Operating strictly to BS 7985:2002 (British Standard – Code of practice for the use of rope access methods for industrial purposes).
- Only employing technicians trained and registered with Irata.
- Operating to an ISO 9001:2000 accredited quality management system.
- Inspecting safety equipment regularly in accordance with Loler 1998.
The use of specialist rope access techniques has many benefits over more traditional access systems, such as scaffolding, including:
- Rope access systems are generally quick to set up and can thus be easily removed at the end of each shift preventing the risk of unauthorised access and associated security issues.
- Disruption is kept to a minimum.
- All works are carried out by the rope access technicians which is both cost effective and convenient for the client.
- An exemplary safety record.
- Providing a versatile solution to difficult access situations which may otherwise prove lengthy and expensive in comparison to the task to be undertaken.
